Manufacturing

Your customers want sustainability data. You make things.

Large customers are passing their own reporting duties down the supply chain. For a manufacturer that means rating invitations, questionnaires and data templates, on top of everything your team already does. Send them to us. You get the finished answer back, signed by a senior ESG expert.

EcoVadis 2026 · EnvironmentSample

Does your company have a formal environmental policy?

Yes. The environmental policy adopted by the management team in March 2025 covers energy use, production waste and water at both sites1. Progress on both targets is reviewed by management each quarter2.

Situations like these
  • Your biggest customer makes an EcoVadis rating a condition for next year's contract.
  • The bank asks for sustainability data with your loan renewal, and nobody knows which data they mean.
  • Whoever owns sustainability fits this in between everything else, and the deadlines keep slipping.

Why it lands on you now

Most of the requests a manufacturer gets do not come from a regulator. They come from customers. A large company that has to report on its own supply chain, or that has promised its own customers a lower footprint, needs data from its suppliers. So it sends a rating invitation, a questionnaire or a template, usually with a deadline set by its own reporting calendar.

EU rules now cap what companies in scope of sustainability reporting may ask value-chain partners with fewer than 1,000 employees at the level of the voluntary SME standard, VSME. That helps: it means one well-built set of data can answer most of what your customers ask. It does not make the requests go away.

What we need from you

You will not have all of this, and that is fine. What is missing becomes the gap list.

  • The request itself: the invitation, the questionnaire or the template, and the deadline
  • Energy and fuel bills, or meter readings, for the last full year
  • Certificates you hold, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001
  • Policies you already have: environmental, health and safety, code of conduct, HR
  • Production volumes, and any product or packaging specifications
  • A contact who knows the plant and can answer questions for an hour or two

Two sectors we focus on first

Within manufacturing we start with two sectors where the pressure from customers is highest and the teams are smallest: fashion and textiles and food and beverage.

Questions

Common questions

Something else? Ask it on the call.

We are a small manufacturer. Is this really for us?

Yes, that is who we built it for. If a customer has asked you for a rating, a questionnaire or a data template and nobody on your team has the weeks it takes, we do it for you, covered by one fixed annual price.

We have no sustainability report and hardly any policies. Can you still help?

Yes. That is a common starting point. We work from what you have: energy bills, ISO certificates, HR policies, production data. What is missing goes on a gap list, and for standard documents such as an environmental policy you get a ready-to-adapt template.

Do you visit our site?

Usually not. The work runs on your documents and data, plus a few calls with the person who knows the plant. If a scheme requires a site audit, that is done by the scheme's own auditor.

Several customers send different questionnaires. Do we pay for each one?

No. One fixed annual price covers all your certifications and questionnaires, and they all draw on the same evidence file, so the second and third take much less of your time.

Is a request sitting in your inbox?

Tell us what your customer is asking for and when it is due. In 20 minutes a senior ESG expert tells you honestly whether we can deliver it in time.
